Privacy Policy: Context

Effective date: 27 September 2026 · Last updated: 27 September 2026

Context ("Context", "we", "us") is an app that helps you understand messages and situations and work out what to say. It's made by Deep C Vision in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.

The short version

1. What we collect and why

Things you send for an answer. When you ask Context about something, the text you type or paste, and any screenshot you choose or share into the app, is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and on to Anthropic's Claude AI to produce your answer. We don't keep it: once the answer comes back, the text and image are dropped. They aren't written to our database or our logs. Context only ever sees images you pick or share yourself. It never browses your photo library.

Other people in your screenshots. Screenshots of chats usually contain other people's names and messages. They're handled the same way: used only to produce your answer, then dropped. Please only share what you're comfortable sharing.

"Make it me" (your texting style). If you teach Context how you text, the example messages or screenshots you provide are sent to Claude once, to work out your style. We then store only the resulting notes, a one-line summary plus a few habits such as "skips full stops, laughs with 'haha'". We never store the example messages. You can view, edit or delete these notes in the app at any time.

Anonymous account. The first time you open the app, we create an anonymous account for you, identified by a random ID. It has no name, email, phone number or password. It lets us keep your free allowance and your Context+ status, and store your style notes if you create them.

Usage counts. For each day, we record how many answers you used and how many of them included an image, so we can apply the free and Context+ limits. We don't record what you asked.

Subscription status. If you buy Context+, Apple or Google handle the payment, and RevenueCat tells us whether your subscription is active. We store whether you have Context+, which plan you're on and when it renews or expires. We never see your card or payment details.

Technical logs. Our servers keep limited logs to keep the service running and secure: for example, whether a request succeeded, how large it was, and standard connection data such as IP addresses. These logs never contain your messages, screenshots or answers, and they're kept only for a short time.

Stored only on your phone. Your history of past answers, including the text you typed (but not screenshots), is saved only on your device. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to ask about it again. You can delete entries in the app, and deleting the app removes them all.

What we don't collect: your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or your photo library. We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking software, and we don't track you across other apps or websites.

2. How we use it

We don't sell your data, use it for advertising, or let anyone use your messages, screenshots or answers to train AI models.

Legal bases (UK GDPR). We process this information to provide the service you've asked for (contract), and for our legitimate interests in keeping Context secure and preventing abuse.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers. Each one processes data only on our behalf and under its own privacy terms:

Some of these providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by their standard data-protection terms, which include approved safeguards for international transfers.

4. How long we keep it

5. Your choices and rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email contact@deepcvision.co.uk. Because your account is anonymous, we may ask you for the ID shown at the bottom of settings in the app, so we can find your data. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

6. Age

Context is for people aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using Context, contact us and we'll delete their data.

7. Safety

If something you share suggests you or someone else may be at risk, Context may show you UK support services. It isn't an emergency service. If you're in danger, call 999.

8. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
